Theodore Alexander Nott
Age: 23.

Former House: Slytherin.

Sexual Orientation: Straight.

Relationship Status: Single.

Occupation: Prosecutor working under the Wizengamot Administration Services.

Affiliations: He works for the current Ministry, making his default allegiance to the National Peace Party.

The oldest of two children Theodore was born on November 21st, 1979 to Edward and Isabella Nott. His younger brother Alexander Geoffrey Nott was born shortly after him on October 20th 1980. Their parents being well educated themselves insisted on the best for their children and after a few years with a governess, hired well known tutors to teach. As a child, he remained quiet and detached from most people--especially in social gatherings--he often only played with his younger brother who tended to be the more louder and active of the two. One day however, when Theodore was five and they were playing tag in their house, Alexander slipped from the top while running down the marble staircase away from his older brother. Normally these times of great peril will present an opportunity for a magically gifted child to rescue him or herself, but it was not the case. Upon this realization, Mrs. Nott had taken the blame upon herself for producing a faulty heir, and her health failed her within a year after Alexander's death.

Theodore was then left to live with his father and it was a mutual agreement for both of them to not speak of either his mother or brother. The two tragedies had served to bring them closer, yet had also fuelled a new line of thought that Theodore had not previously considered. How magical was magic? If asked he wouldn't admit to being secretly interested in muggle technology for a short while since his father wouldn't approve of it at all, and he didn't have any desire to hurt his father since he was the only living relation that he did know. Most of his other relations currently reside in France and he has only been in their presence once, shortly after his birth and had denied any relation with him when Edward Nott was arrested in his fifth year at Hogwarts. Edward Nott passed away two months after arrest, leaving Theodore conflicted and despising both sides of the war as the Dark Lord had abandoned him to rot in prison, and those who captured him showed little mercy.

From early on it was clear to his parents and peers that Theodore was quite clever and creative. He tended to do well in Hogwarts despite irregular amounts of effort he put into his schoolwork. (He was either interested in the work or not.) His ambition was similar to those of Ravenclaws, but his thirst for knowledge tended to exceed theirs as he would tend to be somewhat underhanded in the manners with which he gained knowledge (i.e. he is one to eavesdrop or he'd to mislead other students when looking around for books in the library). People consider Theodore quite, non-social, and even cold, however it isn't for a lack of understanding others. Instead his introverted nature fuelled by his cynicism tends to drive this behaviour. He very easily believes that he is better than most people. This arrogance had been a source of mistaken calculations in many instances, however it was quite fortunate that none of those instances had been fatal.

Hi,

I hope you don't mind me posting this here but I couldn't find your email address. Feel free to delete this (once you've read it ;P)

I have to say that I really enjoy our little bibliophiles-thread and wanted to approach you about a little plot Becka and I cooked up. You might have noticed that Terry Boot & Aidan are trying to revive the DA which is something we're running past the mods in detail right now.

Anyway, I was thinking that perhaps in the long run Aidan could recruit Theodore to spy for them.
I just wanted to ask if a) that fits your idea of Theodore's characters
b) you're interested at all and
c) if you are, how you'd like us to set the thing up (because I realize that at this point Aidan can hardly walk up to Theodore and be all: Oi, mate. Wanna start a rebellion against your old pals from school?)
I'm looking forward to hear your opinion on this (Becka was enthusiastic, by the way ;) ).

Hugs,
from Odyssey :)

Hiya there Odyssey!
That sounds pretty interesting! Theodore has expressed some less than pleasant feelings about Malfoy recently (they have this passive-aggressive competitive nature when left together). And besides that anyone who tries to law away his sugary choco coffee thingies is doomed to feel Theo's wrath. Perhaps something along that line (that petty? --maybe) or another line can 'push him over the edge' and causing him to vent in Aidan's presence. In any case, Theo never really did like Draco since that fellow is controlling and far too outspoken.
Ummm...I think that's all I can think of for now...

Great. I was thinking of setting this up slowly with them keeping in sporadic contract (via the book-connection perhaps?) until at one point Theo starts ranting and perhaps they could even develop a friendship (we should see where the characters lead us there) and then Aidan could invite Theo.

I'm very glad you're interested in this storyline :)
